The year 2018 was the year of many firsts!
1st MEDIT MRCP (UK) PACES Preparatory Program
We conducted our 1st PACES Preparatory Program in Worq Damansara in 2018. Attended by a cohort of 16 participants from all over the country, we successfully ran a 2-day Station 2 (History Taking), 4 (Communication Skills) and 5 (Brief Clinical Consultations) practise sessions with 4 dedicated and trained medical educators cum practising physicians in the field of Internal Medicine in Malaysia.
We were moved by the response of some participants who walked in with their luggage bags as they caught the earliest flight from their place of work to attend our program early Saturday morning. They went to great lengths to participate in our program, and we could not be more grateful for that.
In turn, we assured a valuable learning experience, where each participant gained the opportunity to perform in the carousel-based stations. Enjoyed sharing with them the mistakes I had done in my preparatory journey for them to avoid and take just a little easier route to reach their goals.
1st LAUNCH OF MEDIT MY HOUSEMANSHIP KIT
This was a project very close to my heart - as a house officer, where you finally see the realities of medicine and healthcare in hospitals, there were many moments I felt helpless...if only I knew more...
This kit was developed with my fellow juniors in mind. We focussed on the 5 P's (SuperPowers) of a house officer. This really boosted the morale of many of my junior colleagues as they were able to grasp the idea of preparation, anticipation and knowledge acquisition.
1st CORPORATE PROJECT - "HIV CONNECT" with the MALAYSIAN SOCIETY OF HIV MEDICINE (MASHM)
We worked along with the Malaysian Society of HIV Medicine (MASHM) in launching Malaysia's first CPD module/online CPD learning content - launched in 2018, called “HIV Connect”.
